Deaner Hollenbaugh, 86, of Middletown, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Germantown, on September 10, 1919 to parents Harvey and Maud (Izor) Hollenbaugh.

Mr. Hollenbaugh worked as a turn foreman for Armco Steel Corporation, retiring in 1982 after 37 years of service. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, where he was a POW in Germany following the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 218.

Mr. Hollenbaugh is survived by his wife, Reva (Wilmot) Apple-Hollenbaugh; two children, Ross (Sandra) Hollenbaugh and DeAnn (John) Martin; five step children, Mark (Tamara) Apple, Linda (Dale) Morton, Jan (Dan) Russell-Collins, Gail (Wayne) Melgaard, and Tracy Irvin; 3 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; and 1 step great great granchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Hollenbaugh; his parents; brothers, Herman, Russell, & Floyd Hollenbaugh; and sister, Mary Louise Poffenbarger.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) with Reverend Bob Stacy officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
