She had been a resident of Fountain County all of her life. She was a housewife and formerly owned the Wallace General Store. She was a member of the Phanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church at Wallace and a member of Ladies Aid.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Hoagland of Veedersburg; two brothers, Wilbur Allen of Lafayette and Paul Allen of Wallace; two sisters, Margaret Dibert of Fort Wayne and Anna Stephenson of Lafayette; three grandchildren, L.W. (Bud) Hoagland, Carl W. Hoagland and Jerry Hoagland; six great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Mildred Gray.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7 in the Dickerson Funeral Home at Veedersburg with the Rev. Karl Korbel officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro." – Fountain County Neighbor, July 9, 1996
