Lester David Sullivan, the son of James and Elsie Mae (Doel) Sullivan was born March 28, 1910 at Topeka, Kan. At the age of 5 he moved with his family to a sod house on a homestead near Limon, Colo. He grew up in the Limon area. In the early 1930s he was united in marriage to Gladys Iola David and to this union three children were born: Dolores, Jim and Janice. In 1941 the family moved to Aurora, Colo. where he worked at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal as a guard and fireman. After Glady's death in 1964 his interest in historical areas led him to Central City, Colo. where he bought a home. On May 27, 1973 he was united in marriage to Lillian Anna Schwartz at the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church. They lived in Central City for a number of years before moving to Lodgepole in 1979. Lester was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lodgepole.
