Sloan "Hoss" Harlow, 59, died Sunday November 15, 1998 at Sarah Bush Hospital, Mattoon, IL. Born April 10, 1939 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Spicy Slone Harlow Sallee of Harrodsburg and the late Sam Harlow. He was a retired lineman for Illinois Power Company and had worked for Earl Walker Company, Sullivan, IL. He was a member of Sullivan American Legion Post #68, Mattoon Eagles Club and Timberlake Golf Club. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Karen McCormick Harlow, Sullivan, IL; three sons, Shane Harlow, Lockport, IL, Kenny Harlow, Humboldt, IL and Michael Harlow of Leominster, MA; two stepsons, Andy Zike and David Zike of Mattoon, IL; one step daughter, Mrs. Tim (Cindy) Marlow, Sullivan, IL; two brothers, Ansel Harlow, Loveland, OH and Joe Harlow of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Rose Watts, Harrodsburg, Lela Henley, Frankfort and Nina Sallee, Olney, TX; ten grandchildren. He was preceded n death by one daughter, one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 18, at Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan, IL with Pastor Bill Stark officiating.
