Mrs. Caroline Parson, 85, a New Philadelphia resident for 45 years, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen Lane Rest Home after a lengthy illness. Her home was at 109 Front St. SW. Born Dec. 30, 1870, in Shade Gap, Pa., she was a daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Varner Watters. Her husband, Frank Parson, died in 1939. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Philadelphia. Surviving are a son, Floyd C. Parson of New Philadelphia, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Isaac Watters of Orbisonia, Pa., and three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Phillips, Mrs. Mary Parson and Mrs. Elizabeth Bollinger, all of Mount Union, Pa. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Holmberg in charge. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening.
