Daughter of Stephen Hutchinson Watters and Mary Elizabeth Varner. Wife of William Phillips.

Obituary:
Mrs. Jennie A. Phillips of Mount Union, formerly of Shade Gap, died at Shirleysburg on Saturday evening, April 29, 1961. She had been in failing health for four months. She was born June 25, 1867, in Tell Township, a daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth (Varner) Waters. She was married to William Phillips of Dublin Township on April 5, 1895. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1944. Surviving is one step-son, William O. Phillips of Mogsdore, Ohio. Also surviving is one brother, Isaac Waters of Orbisonia, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Parsons of Mount Union. She was a member of the Salem EUB Church in Tell Township. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, from the Ott funeral home in Orbisonia. The Rev. Albert Haught, pastor of the Sugar Run Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Salem Cemetery in Tell Township. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. this evening until the time of service.
