Obituary For Carolyn Ann-Bothwell Polk

Ms. Carolyn Ann Bothwell Polk was born February 4, 1952 in St. Clair County to the late Mr. Leonard and Willie Mae Bothwell. She departed this life on December 2, 2020 at St. Vincent's Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama.

Carolyn was baptized at an early age. She confessed Christ and joined Overcoming Church of our Lord Jesus Christ in Ashville, Alabama. She later became a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama. She attended Greater Grace Church in Ashville, Alabama. Carolyn was dearly loved in the community and was best known for her charity. She was a loving person that enjoyed cooking and baking for others. Carolyn received great joy from serving her family, friends, church, and community. Carolyn was known for being an excellent baker, gardener and having a magnificent Green Thumb. Her motto was "The bigger, the better."

She was always a devoted employee. She was employed at Woolco, Firestone in California, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and GoldKist, she then worked at Wrangler Jeanswear until she retired. Later she began working with and for her brother and owner of O So Good Barbeque until her health began to fail.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Jerry Polk: parents; Leonard and Willie Mae Bothwell, sisters; Hazel Looney and Betty Bothwell, and brothers; Henry Bothwell, Leon Bothwell and Oscar Bothwell. She leaves to cherish her memories one loving son: Frederick (Tammye) Polk: two loving daughters; Dimica Polk and Symone (Justin) Campbell: three grandchildren; Jerry Polk, Khloe Campbell and Justin Campbell Jr.: three sisters; Mary Evans, Dorothy (Curtis) Phillips, Wanda Looney, three brothers; Leonard Bothwell Sr., Clarence (Bridget) Bothwell, Edward Bothwell: three brothers-in-law; James Looney, Nathan Polk and Sidney Polk: ten sisters-in-law; Beverly Bothwell, Florence Bothwell, Shirley Beasley, Phyllis Polk. Deborah (Morris) Jordan, Norval Stoves, Merlyn (Marvin) Montgomery, Claudette Polk, Juanita Polk, and Sandra Tucker. Life-long best friend: Deborah Montgomery. Children in love; Dehaun Bothwell, Thomas Bothwell, Tommy Bothwell and Teresa Turner. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Public Viewing will 5-7pm Friday December 4,2020 in the chapel of West Gadsden funeral home

Graveside service will be 1 O'Clock in the afternoon Saturday December 5,2020 in the Old Liberty Cemetery Oneonta
