Carol Helen Jean Jones of Rudd, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at her home in Rudd, Iowa.

There will be a memorial service at 3 PM and a public visitation from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral home, St. Ansgar, Iowa. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Carol (Kittleson) Jones was born November 12, 1931 in Mitchell County. She was the daughter of Floyd and Caroline (Feldt) Kittleson. She graduated from St. Ansgar in 1950. On July 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to Wayne Jones.
Carol was a hardworking farm wife who enjoyed watching her hummingbirds, sewing up any type of clothing you could imagine, working on puzzles, and gardening. She loved watching sports, her favorite being softball, and watching old westerns on her television. When not working on the farm, you could find Carol making cookies to have available for anyone who would stop by to eat and telling everyone about her grandchildren. Carol served as a leader for the Mitchell County 4-H horse program, was on the board of directors for the Floyd County Cattle Women, served as part of the Orchard Legion Auxiliary, was a member of the Cedar River Saddle Club, and was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Osage where she served on various committees.

Living family members include her daughter Lori Aird of Charles City, Ia; four grandchildren, Heather Jones of Rudd, Duane Jones of Kansas City, MO., Lisa (Mitch) Blair of Cedar Falls, Ia and Amy Aird of Grimes, Ia; one great grandchild; and her siblings Marge Johnson of Osage and Norm Kittleson of St. Ansgar.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wayne Jones, sons Kevin Jones and Leroy Jones; grandchild, Kris Jones; sisters Charlotte Kittleson and Virgen Erdmann, and brothers Galen, Marlin, James, LeRoy, and Claire Kittleson.
