Brother of John A DeGraff, Lowrance DeGraff, David M DeGraff, Hiram DeGraff, Rachel (DeGraff) Zeller, Garrit DeGraff and Mary DeGraff

The Historical gazetteer of Steuben County states that Andrew DeGroff was born in Amsterdam (this would be the Amsterdam in Montgomery County) on September 17, 1810, and came to Howard about 1835. It further states that "he served in Co. H, 141st N. Y. Vol's." (This would be a U.S. Civil War unit.) 5. Andrew Frank DeGraff 1838–1905

Mariah passed away in 1849.

According to Bible in last possession of Lawrence DeGraff. (This Bible ended up with Edward E DeGraff's widow Clara who donated 2 pages to the Genealogical Records Committee). It was indexed poorly. Explanation follows:

Below is the GRC (Genealogical Records Committee) source listing this information.
"Bible Description: Andrew de Graff (1811-1894) and wife, 1. MARIAH FRANK (1818-1849) 2. Mary J. Hollis (1825-1910)".

"This information was transcribed, by the New York State Conference in 1932, from two leaves in the DeGraff bible and was, at that time, in the possession of Clare A. Griswold, widow of Edward DeGraff. That transcription was donated to the National Society and subsequently, digitized. I do not locate information indicating that the National Society is possession of that bible.

This GRC information remains as part of the digitized records. The actual page on which this information is listed shows, in handwriting, the number "4" with a question mark next to the birth information. It reads "Mariah Frank born May 16, 1818 then in handwriting, (and it does not list by whom) is "4?". When a researcher looks at the digitized information, that is what it will provide regarding what the transcriber understood at the time of transcription. "
