Betty J. Sharp, 92, of Marseilles, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
She was born June 6, 1929, in Ottawa to Homer and Clara (Meier) Mathews. In 1949, she married Harel Sharp of Marseilles who preceded her in death in 2018.
Betty was a member of the Marseilles First Baptist Church and was active in the bible study and other church groups. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, bowling, and fishing. She was an active resident of Marseilles for 72 years.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Pamela Sharp of Bagley, MN; two granddaughters: Shannon Sharp of Oakland, CA and Allison Sharp of St. Cloud, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harel on December 12, 2018; her son, Harel "Jay" Sharp on September 8, 2017; and three brothers: Homer Jr., Raymond, and Ted Mathews.
