Clay Cornwell of Brookland, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, May 24, 2021. He was born April 30, 1956 in Lepanto, Arkansas, the son of William Lee "W.L." and Nina Fay (Nelson) Cornwell.
Mr. Cornwell was a United States Navy veteran. Some of his favorite times were riding his Harley, working in the garden and participating in many fundraising rides for Toys for Tots, and other organizations. He was a member of ABATE. Mr. Cornwell was a loving father, a great caretaker of his family, and was someone you could always count on.
Mr. Cornwell was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Nina Fay (Nelson) Cornwell of Brookland; one son, Jacob Daniel Cornwell (Chloe) of Jonesboro; one brother, Doug Cornwell and wife, Wendy, of Tavares, Florida; three sisters, Jeannette Green of Oakland, Tennessee, Judy Gaines of Brookland, Arkansas, and Nanci Cornwell of Eustis, Florida; one blessed grandbaby on the way; two great-nieces, Madison Green and Copeland Green, and one great-nephew, Gabriel Green, who all adored him.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday, May 28th, 2021 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Memory Garden Cemetery at Johnstown.
