Iva Olive Glasgow, twin sister of Ida May Glasgow, was born on May 18, 1889 in their family's home town of Peru, Nebraska. They were the 2nd/3rd of six children (including one other set of twins!).

In 1908 Iva graduated from what was then called the Peru State Teacher's College - quite an achievement for a woman of that era.

On Aug 22, 1913 she married George Stanley Hansen in Peru. They had two daughters - Ardis (b 1915) and Ellen (b 1923) and a son, George (b 1926).

The girls were both born in Nebraska, but by 1923 they have moved to Safford, Arizona, where George worked as a Superintendent of Schools (and that is where their son was born). They later moved to Tempe, then Graham, Arizona and ultimately to Phoenix.

George died on December 10, 1954. Iva lived until the age of 90, dying on January 6, 1980.

Written by Diane Scholten, her 1st cousin twice removed (her father, Joseph Elsworth Glasgow was the brother of my great grandfather Sterling Perry Glasgow)
