James F. Murphy, 81, of East Greenbush passed away on October 7, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Ghaney) Murphy and loving husband to his wife Barbara Jean (Lout) Murphy. James was a truck driver for 29 years with the Tobin Packing Company before its closing. He then went to work for the New York State Department of Corrections as a driver for "CORCRAFT" for 12 years. James was an avid NASCAR and New York Giants fan. He enjoyed boating and traveling in his RV. In addition to his wife, James is survived by his daughters, Monica Farrell of Guilderland and Maura Edwards of Madison, Ala.; stepdaughters, Lee Dames of Rensselaer and Danielle Vogel of East Greenbush; stepson, David B. Grant of East Greenbush; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and one step- great-grandson. He was predeceased by his son, James E. Murphy; a daughter, Margaret Murphy; a brother, Bernard Murphy and sisters, Alicia (Lee) Abbott and Theresa Hayes. Funeral service from Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St., Nassau on Thursday, October 10, at 9 a.m. thence to St. Mary's Church in Nassau where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery in Nassau
