Raymond (Ray) Heier passed away on March 18, 2021 at Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington.

Ray was born and raised in Michigan, North Dakota, graduated from Michigan High School in 1941, and moved to Auburn, Washington with his parents and two siblings shortly after. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his military service, he returned to Washington, which is where he met and married his beloved wife, Violet. Together, they raised their four children.
Ray had a long career with Boeing, first in Renton, then transferred to Everett. He moved his family from Auburn to Marysville in 1967 after being transferred.
Ray belonged to a trailer club called the Green River Ramblers and was active in taking his children and grandchildren on many camping trips throughout the years. Lasting friendships were made inside the trailer group.
After retiring from Boeing in 1982, Ray and Violet would travel to Yuma, Arizona every year to get away from the cold and wet Washington winters. They would have lots of fun enjoying the sun, playing poker or the slots, and making trips to Mexico.
Ray's other much-loved hobby was playing poker. He was still winning tournaments until 2019, and he loved telling his poker stories. When Ray was not playing poker, he liked to spend his time drinking coffee and socializing at Don's Restaurant.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Iver and Cora Heier; wife, Violet; son, Steven; brother, Roger; and sister, Iris.
He is survived by his sons, Richard and David; daughter, Shelley; Grandchildren, Tara, Britany, Dean, and Lesa; and Great Grandchildren, Milan, Zane, Hayden, and Dustynn.
He always had a smile to pass along, and he will be greatly missed, loved by all.
Graveside services will be May 1, 2021, at 11:00am at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, Washington.
