Jessie Bell Johnson age 84 of Smithville, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. She was born February 21, 1937 to her parents, the late Shelia Robert and Julie Mai Williams Shehane.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Leamon Johnson; 6 brothers, Robert, Hoyte, Toy B. Ben, Maxi and Frank Shehane; 7 sisters, Olena Shehane, Willene Saylors, Lura Jean Reeder, Mae Lattimore, Mary Lattimore, Alma Swafford and Frances Bates. Ms. Jessie Bell was a member of the Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church and was a babysitter.

She is survived by a son, James Lee Johnson of Smithville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:PM Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros.

Bernard Houk and Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Banks Cemetery.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
