68 year old Alma Caldwell Swofford of Smithville died Friday at her residence. She was a Baptist and retired from Tenneco. The funeral will be Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bernard Houk will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelah Shehane and Julie Williams Johnson; husbands, Norval Caldwell and Douglas Swofford. Four sisters, Willine Saylors, Laura Jean Reeder, and Mai and Mary Lattimore. Six brothers, Frank, Maxie, Robert, Toy B., Ben, and Hoyte Shehane. She is survived by a son, Adam and wife Sue Caldwell; three daughters, Frances and husband Jimmy Cates, Eva and husband Carl Bandy, and Rita and husband Jimmy Taylor; seven grandchildren, Chris Caldwell, Tabitha and John Farmer, Betsy Cates, Heather and Brent Reed, Kim and Michael Keaton, Rebecca and Jonathon Moore, and Alex Keith; and fourteen great grandchildren, Brooke Gannon, James and Caroline Farmer, Hayden and Hastin Lincoln, Blaine and Madison Atnip, Christopher, Beth, and Bell Reed, Bentlee, Jaxon, and Asher Moore all of Smithville, and Gracie Caldwell of McMinnville. Two sisters, Jessie Bell Johnson and Frances and Harlon Bates of Smithville.
