Debra Joann "Debbi" Fleener, 60, a lifetime Morgan County resident, passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones and her best friend by her side on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Debbi's life began on March 11, 1961 in Beech Grove, Indiana when she was born to the late James L. and Gloria Evelyn (Sykes) Stierwalt.
She was a graduate of Eminence High School with the Class of 1979. She was a member of Samaria Baptist Church in Paragon, and Job's Daughters, where she served as past Honor Queen and Eminence Chapter #546 Order of Eastern Star. Debbi enjoyed playing musical instruments, time shared with her grandbabies and family, crocheting and her dog, Shelby. She was also a pro at hoarding and was known to have at least three of everything.
She leaves behind a host of loving family including her daughters, Joann Stierwalt (fiancé, Mark Williams) and P.J. Fleener (companion, Brent Green) of Paragon, Joy Stierwalt-Gott (husband, Billy) of Mooresville; goddaughter, Tiffany Figley (companion, Monty Grubbs) of Paragon; step-daughter, Becky Parsons (husband, Scott) of Monrovia; her companion, Brian Standish of Paragon; sisters, Donna Sue Baker of Martinsville, Diane Poteet of Monrovia, Dedee Rhea (husband, Russ) of Eminence and Darla Brewer (husband, Jeff) of Cloverdale; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband, David Fleener and three brothers, Ronald, Daryl and Paul Stierwalt.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 5-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center. A service celebrating Debbi's life will begin Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Debbi's family request that all in attendance wear tie dye clothing, as this was Debbi's favorite. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband at Mannan Cemetery in Lewisville.
