She was a member of Beulah Free Will Baptist of Pentecostal Holiness Faith and was a former inspector with Avondale. Mrs. Matthews enjoyed working in her flowers and cooking for her family and friends.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her siblings, Ella Mae Matthews, Connie Stokes, Selvia Jean Collins Sims, B. J. Collins, Harold Collins, Bobby Collins, Stanley Collins, Collie Collins, Willard Collins, C. B. Collins and Elmer Jean Floyd; son-in-law, Billy Brown; and grandson, Tommy Miller.
