Born near the sharp bend in M-88 between Central Lake and Eastport Michigan known as Shady Nook, daughter of James E Boice and Altha Wilkinson. The family moved to Fresno in 1918. Mary lived with her sister Grace and near her sister Gladys's family near Fresno. Mary and Grace were public school teachers. My father's second cousins.

Clovis - Services for Mary E Boice 86 will be held at 2 PM Friday at Clovis Funeral Cahpel. Burial will be in Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno. Miss Boice died Wednesday. Born in Michigan, she moved to the Clovis-Fresno area in 1918. A retired teacher, she taught at Grant Elementary School in Laton 25 years and at schools in Caruthers and Michigan. Miss Boice was a graduate of Fresno State University. She was an active member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Fresno and a member of the National and California Retired Teachers associations. Surviving is a sister, Grace boice of Clovis. The family requests that any remembrances be sent to the Memorial Baptist Church Mission Fund in Fresno.
