Heartfelt thank you to Find A Grave contributor William Taber for creating Fannie's memorial , your kindness has touched our heart Fannie Adkins Family and friends of Fannie Adkins are mourning the death of this very beloved lady. Born on September 7, 1921 in Russell Springs, Kentucky, Mrs. Adkins came to Indianapolis in the late 1930's where she and her husband Homer Adkins, raised their five children. Mrs. Adkins was the founder of Adkins Draperies, which she operated for over twenty years. Mrs. Adkins was married to Homer Adkins for thirty-eight years and several years following his death, she married Chester Propes who passed away in 2001. Mrs. Adkins is survived by her five children: Hubert (wife Bonnie) Adkins; Kenny Adkins (late wife Mildred); Wanda (husband Ivan) Little, Roy (wife Lissa) Adkins; Ralph (wife Cindy) Adkins. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren, all of whom have been deeply impacted by this inspirational lady. Mrs. Adkins' love and generosity extended beyond her family to include involvement as a board member of the Sunshine Garden Wesleyan Church for over fifty years. Prior to her death, Mrs. Adkins requested of her family that they remember Kenny Dausch, Joe Crosley, and Jesse Davis, who were three special friends that were dear to her heart. Although Mrs. Adkins will long be remembered for her wonderful smile, bright eyes, cheerful countenance, and strong faith, some of her fondest moments in her later years were fishing anywhere that the fish were biting. The family wishes to thank Mrs. Adkins' daughter, Wanda Little, her husband Ivan Little, grand daughter Martina Adkins, and great grand daughter Megan Di Caprio for the exceptional care that they gave to her on an on-going basis the last year of her life. Services entrusted to Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
