Josephine Lorraine Hawkins, age 81, passed away while surrounded by her family on April 1, 2021 in her home.

Josephine was born on May 19, 1939 in Stevens Point, WI, the daughter of John and Dolly (Nile) Rice. Josephine married Alvin Hawkins on April 19, 1968.

Josephine worked for 16 years at Madison United Hospital Laundry, cooked for area restaurants and also worked at Per Mar Security. She loved to tend to her gardens where she planted vegetables and roses and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Josephine is survived by her four children, Cindy Miller of Brodhead, Penny (Vernon) Alsmo of Oregon, John (Korinna) Hawkins of Brodhead and Patty Hawkins (Jon Steinbach) of Lodi; 2 sisters, Agnes Willie of Belvidere, IL and Shirley Clark of Dayton, TN; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin on May 30, 2007, 4 brothers, 11 sisters and a great granddaughter, Jazmine.
