Helena M. Goodwin of Trumansburg passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the age of 89.

Born in Enfield on June 17, 1931, Helena was the daughter of the Howard and Minnie (Whitaker) Holley. Helena worked for many years as a bookkeeper before transitioning to be a daycare provider for many years.

Helena will always be remembered for being a staple at family gatherings and reunions, often where her famous mac & cheese could be enjoyed. She loved chocolate, working in her garden beds, and writing poetry. Helena always loved a good lunch outing with family.

Helena is survived by her four children, Gary (Sandra) Goodwin, Bonnie (Barry) Smith, Michael (Kimberlee) Goodwin, and Susanna Goodwin; her brother, Robert (Linda) Holley; grandchildren, Shelly Goodwin, Keith Goodwin, Kristy Goodwin, Kerri (Corey) Everhart-Mount, Katie (Nick) Everhart, Koby Everhart, Melissa (Kevin) Custer, Taryn (Branigan) Donahue, Jessi , and Michael French, Rick and Rob (April) Smith ; 16 great-grandchildren; John Everhart (Roxi) ; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years John "Bill" Goodwin in 2012; parents; and eight siblings, Francis (Peggy) Holley, Raymond (Virginia) Holley, Richard (Marilyn) Holley, Harlond (Ester, Faye) Holley, Margaret (Jared) Rumsey, Mildred (Orville) Rumsey, Marion (Carl) Lovelace and Doris (Francis) Oakley.
