James was the 3rd of 8 children of John Wesley Yerian and Emma Frances Wyatt.
He married to Grace Ellen Harper.
They appear in the 1920 census of Jackson City, Jackson County, Ohio. James was a coal miner.

YERIAN FUNERAL ON SATURDAY
James A. Yerian, 81, died at Penton Nursing Home in Chillicothe following a
lingering illness.
He was a native and lifetime resident of Jackson and a retired employee of
the Jackson Iron and Steel Company. His home address was 1 Wood Ave.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Harper Yerian in 1948. Two
sons also preceded him in death. Surviving are two children, John Yerian of
Chillicothe and Mrs. Lucille Oiler, of Springfield. Also surviving are three
brothers, Fred, Burt and Howard Yerian, all of Jackson and one sister, Mrs.
Nellie Whitaker of Jackson.
Friends may call after noon Friday at the Sperry funeral home where funeral
services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
