She was a very accomplished woman who was a graduate of Washington DC Law College. She was admitted to the Bar in 1917 (!) and was a member of the Washington Bar Association . She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Col. James McCall section. A newspaper in Oregon in September 1919 described her as in Washington DC as long been employed at the Department of Commerce.
She had been born in Portland Oregon. Her mother was Mary Davies Royal and her father was Charles Royal .
In the August 1903 Lily Dale Sunflower newspaper she is also advertised as a Trance, Test and Business Medium. She was living at 22 Second Street in Lily Dale NY
She had been married to Walter Prescott Williams who she sued in 1908 for maintenance in Washington DC for support of their daughter
She was also a Trance Medium, and was giving messages in Washington DC
She died at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 11 days in 1951 at her home on 18 North Street in the Spiritualist community of Lily Dale NY. Her surviving next of kin was her and Walter's one child, daughter, Ella Merle Williams Hershey. Mrs Merle Hersey is described as a journalist well known in New York Literary circles. Ella is described as Rev Williams, president of the Lily Dale church and well known in Washington in connection to governmental and political affairs (from am article in the Jamestown Evening Journal Saturday Nov 24th 1928 description of party given for Dr McIvor Tyndall

In the 1940 census, Ella, age 74 was living at 18 North Street in the spiritualist community of Lily Dale NY with her daughter Merle Williams Hersey age 51 and her granddaughter Dorothy Hersey Wiley age 24/ At this time Ella listed her occupation as artist, and that she was widowed.
