"Salem Pioneer Dead, Aged 82--C.F. Royal Came to Oregon in 1852; Funeral to Be Held Friday--C.F. Royal, pioneer of 1852, died at his home in Salem yesterday morning. He was 52 years old.
Mr. Royal spent the early part of his life in Fountain county, Indiana. His first settlement in Oregon was in Astoria, March 26, 1852.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Mary Jane Royal; four daughters, Mrs. Cora N. Belding of Portland; Mrs. Ella R. Williams of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Rosemary Shipworth, Hillsboro; Mrs. Lena M. Adams, Dover, Okla., and a son, Ore Royal, of Portland.
The funeral services are set for 11 o'clock Friday morning at Rigdon's undertaking parlors. Rev. J. Stocker, pastor of the Evangelical association, will conduct the services." OS Nov 15, 1917 3:4
