Mr. Royal spent the early part of his life in Fountain county, Indiana. His first settlement in Oregon was in Astoria, March 26, 1852.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Mary Jane Royal; four daughters, Mrs. Cora N. Belding of Portland; Mrs. Ella R. Williams of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Rosemary Shipworth, Hillsboro; Mrs. Lena M. Adams, Dover, Okla., and a son, Ore Royal, of Portland.
The funeral services are set for 11 o'clock Friday morning at Rigdon's undertaking parlors. Rev. J. Stocker, pastor of the Evangelical association, will conduct the services." OS Nov 15, 1917 3:4
