CARRIE SEEVERS

Mrs. Carrie V. Seevers, 95, formerly of Etruria St., died Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the East Liverpool Convalescent Center following a long illness.

A resident here since 1904, Mrs. Seevers was born in Wellsburg, W.Va., Oct. 2, 1887, a daughter of Posey F. Cheek and Estella Higgins Cheek.

She was a member of the Reader's Book Club, the Oakland Free Methodist Church since 1906 having taught Sunday School, and belonged to its Ladies Bible Class and Keen Agers. She worked in area potteries, and retired from the Homer Laughlin China Co., in Newell. Her husband Ira F. Seevers, died in 1947.

Survivors include a son Frank V. Seevers of Monaca, a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Myra) Tice of East Liverpool, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great-grandchild.

Sevices are to be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Harold Haire. Burial is to be in Calcutta united Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday afternoon and night.

Carrie was the grand-daughter of Peter Ransdell & Mary A. Lowe Cheek and John Dallas & Ella J. Vermillion Higgins.

Carrie was preceded in death by a son, Harold, who died in March, 1983.

She was the oldest and the last surviving sibling of the seven Cheek Sisters:
