TAYLOR RITES IN GLASGOW

Word has been received of the death of Clifford Elliott Taylor, son of Elliott P. Taylor, who passed away at his home nine miles northwest of Marshalltown at 4 p.m. Thursday. He had been ill the past four months and in poor health several years. A short time ago he had returned from the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minn.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday morning at the Estel funeral home, Marshalltown in charge of Dr. F. F. Travis. Another service at 3 p.m. will be held at Glasgow Methodist church with interment in the Glasgow cemetery.

C. E. Taylor was born December 27, 1888, in Glasgow, the son of Elliott P. and Clara Strong Taylor. He grew to manhood in Glasgow and on November 20, 1911 was married to Emma M. Gardner.

He was engaged in the general merchandising business in Glasgow until 1919 when he moved to Newton as manager of the Bake-Rite Bakery. In February, 1928 he went to Marshalltown where he opened the Maid-Rite Sandwich Shop of which he was owner and operator at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Paul Jensen, Salina, Kansas, and Beverly Jane Taylor, a student at Iowa State College, Ames; one son, Donald E. of Marshalltown; his father Elliott P. Taylor of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. D.R. Black, Newton, and Mrs. James Grant of Fairfield; two granddaughters, Sandra and Helen Taylor of Marshalltown. His mother, three sisters, and one granddaughter Susan preceded him in death.

He was a member of the First Methodist church in Marshalltown and of the Sons of Union Veterans.
