FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIES.
Mrs. J. M. Gleason, former Jefferson County resident, died Monday in Edmonds, Wash. She was preparing for a visit to Fairfield and Glasgow when she was stricken at her home. Mrs. Gleason was the former Emma Gardner. Local relatives include Mrs. T. T. Stuckey, a sister, and Albert Gardner, a brother, both of Fairfield. Funeral services will be held in Edmonds. Services and burial will also be held at a later date. The body will be returned to this county for burial in Glasgow cemetery. Surviving children are Donald Taylor, Marshalltown; Mrs. Bob Gruman, Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. Paul Jensen, Woolaston, Mass.

GLASGOW RITES WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. GLEASON.
Services for Mrs. Emma Taylor Gleason, 71, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Glasgow Methodist church. Mrs. Gleason died suddenly last Monday at Edmonds, Wash. Last rites will be conducted by Dr. Max Volkmann. Burial will be in Glasgow cemetery. The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gleason was born March 18, 1892 at Fairfield, the daughter of Albert R. and Mary Loring Gardner. She attended Parsons college and taught rural schools in Jefferson county. She was married to Clifford E. Taylor Nov. 26, 1912. He died in 1944. In 1954 she was married to J. Mark Gleason who preceded her in death Oct. 2, 1956. Mrs. Gleason was a member of the Hughes Memorial Methodist church in Edmonds. She is survived by three children: Donald Taylor, Marshalltown; Mrs. Robert Gruman, Minneapolis; and Mrs. Paul Jensen, Wollaston, Mass. The following brothers and sisters also survive: J. M. Gardner, Salina; Guy Gardner, Davenport; John Gardner, Bentonsport; Tom Gardner, Boulder, Colo; Albert Gardner, Fairfield; Robert Gardner, Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Ray Church, Bonaparte; Mrs. Thomas Stuckey, Fairfield; Mrs. Ray Grant, Mt. Pleasant; and Mrs. Flossie Turley, Orange, Calif.
