LEXINGTON, Ky. — Johnny Williamson, 84, of Sidney, Ky., died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1987, in St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington following a lingering illness.
Born July 24, 1903 in Pike County, Ky., he was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie B. and Polly Ann (Brown) Williamson; a son, Ernest Russell Williamson; and five brothers.
A retired coal miner and member of UMWA District 30, he was a member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Spears) Williamson of Sidney; three sons, James L. Williamson and Robert Williamson of Sidney, and Thomas J. Edsel Williamson of Hardy, Ky.; three daughters, Irene Blackburn of Sidney, Clarine Elswick of Brunswick, Ohio and Betty Jewel Blackburn of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Ben Williamson of Huddy, Ky., and Jack Williamson of Sidney; a half-brother, Garland Cochran of Sidney; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. tonight. Special services are set for 7 p.m. tonight.

BELFRY, Ky. — Funeral services for Johnny Williamson, 84, of Sidney, Ky., will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 18, 1987 at 1 p.m. at the Rogers Funeral Home chapel with Elders Buddy Kendrick and John Calvin Hatfield.
Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery at Sidney with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call anytime at the funeral home. Special services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky.
