The following obituary appeared in "The Courier Express" (DuBois, PA) on Saturday, March 20, 2021:

James Robert Hess, 56, of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 19, 2021.

Jim was born in DuBois, PA on June 9, 1964, the son of Bonnie Bloom of DuBois and the late John Hess.

On May 7, 1988, he married his wife of 32 years, Tricia M. (Volosky) Hess, she survives.

Jim was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and spent 38 years working in the rail car industry for Rescar Inc. He was involved with the Sabula United Methodist Church and volunteered as a youth football coach and Boy Scout leader. Jim enjoyed spending time with his wife, traveling to Disney World, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his mother and wife, Jim is survived by three children: Justin Hess and wife, Meghan, of Rockton, PA; Danielle Kane and husband, James, of Dallas, PA; and Joshua Hess of DuBois, PA.

James is also survived by five grandchildren: Jackson and Cooper Hess, Parker and Aubrie Hess, and Sophia Kane; two brothers, Don Hess of DuBois, PA and Gerald Swaggert of Home, PA; four sisters: Debbie Muth of Rockton, PA; Charlene Craven of Wheelwright, MA; Jan Armanini of Hollywood, PA; and Sherry Hess of Bradford, PA.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 4–7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Social distancing requirements will be followed and masks are required. We ask that you keep your visit brief so that others may pay their respects.

A private funeral service will be held from the funeral home with Pastor Butch Brunner officiating.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
