THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, May 29, 1902, page 1. "ALVERSON. - Margaret Melita McCammon was born in Montreal, Canada, June 13, 1831, and died in Maxwell, Iowa, May 22, 1902, aged seventy years, eleven months and nine days. She moved with her parents to Illinois while yet a young girl, was married to Moses E. Alverson in 1854, and came to Iowa in 1868, to this union was born six sons, five of whom are living. Her husband preceeded** her to the spirit world about four years. Deceased has lived in and near Maxwell for many years and has many friends here. she was a kind mother, always doing her best to administer to the wants of her children and never forgetting her friends. She was a very patient sufferer and although she had been afflicted for some time she never complained of her lot. None but words of praise could be spoken for her as her thoughts were always centered on the nobler things of life. The funeral was conducted at the M. E. church by O. F. Shaw and her body was laid to rest in the Maxwell cemetery by the side of her husband." **Editorial note - spelling follows the newspaper spelling.
