Linda Marie Shepherd was the second of three children and the oldest daughter born to the union of Robert Carlton and Elizabeth Bernice (Hopson) Anderson. Linda was matriculated through the Columbus Public School System, from which she was graduated from Eastmoor Senior High School in June 1976.

Linda was an unabashedly proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Her entire enlistment was spent stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where she served in the capacity of a medic of obstetrics. While in San Antonio, her beloved son, Adrian Alexander Shepherd, was born. For 37 years, Linda was a devoted mother, tending to each and every one of Adrian's needs, even while she herself was dying.

Acting on an overwhelming passion for service to others, Linda was gainfully employed by the State of Ohio. She retired as a Supervisor in the Medicaid system after 35 years of dedicated and bountiful service.

Besides her son, faith was paramount in Linda's life. From birth, she was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend Charles F. Jenkins. In 2003, Linda joined First Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated and faithful member until her homegoing. There, Linda was a former member of the Trustee Board and an active member of the Women's Ministry, where her passion for service saw the creation of the Star House Youth Ministry, which Linda spearheaded alongside her sister. Each month, they prepared and served delicious hot meals to the homeless and disheveled youth of Franklin County. Linda also founded the Young Men's Usher Board at First Baptist and, under her careful and meticulous leadership, for more than five years, Linda's "boys" ushered with a military-like precision of which only Linda could instill, on the third Sunday of every month, and offered a special flag presentation annually around Veterans Day. Linda's ushers, which included her son, will forever cherish the discipline, structure, precision, and adoration of Christian service and fellowship which she imparted into her ushers. Linda beamed with pride regarding her ushers and often bragged about their performance and character. Through her leadership and wise council, Linda heavily assisted in the transformation of each of her "boys" into respectable and well-rounded young men.

Linda transitioned from labor to leisurely reward in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Welcoming her to the Savior's throne were her parents, Robert Anderson and Elizabeth Harris; step-father, Wilbur Harris, Jr.; special aunt, Peggy Cross; paternal grandparents, William and Anna Anderson; maternal grandparents, Bessie Hopson and Richard (Blanche) Hopson; and great-grandmother, Catherine Oliver. Those anticipating a heavenly reunion with Linda are her beloved and devoted son, Adrian Shepherd; brother, Michael Anderson; sister, Vicki Anderson; step-sisters, Tia Harris-Roseboro and Phala (Todd) Talbert; step-brother, Kyle (Jonise) Harris; uncle, Richard Hopson, Jr.; special cousins, Toni, Terry, and Rev. Tracy Cross; Godchildren, Shawn and Julia Burrs; their mother, Venai Burrs; and other lifelong friends, Waukina Curtis, Sharon Perkins, Ronnie Gooch, Rudy Carter, Joseph Carmichael, Jr., and Catherine Cain, and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
