In Columbus, Ohio, on July 28, 1931, the fourth and final addition was added to the family of William C. and Anna V. Anderson in the person of Robert Carlton Anderson, known to most as "Bobby."

Mt. Vernon Elementary School was the foundation of his education, then on to Champion Jr. High and East High Schools, and the Ohio State University, where his schooling was interrupted by a call to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On April 21, 1956, Bobby was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Hopson and to this union, one son and two daughters were born. The greatest joy of his life was the togetherness of his family and the serving of his fellowman.

Bobby was baptized in Second Baptist Church on August 6, 1950 under the pastorate of Reverend Charles F. Jenkins. A lover of music, Bobby was selected to act as director of the Second Baptist Youth Choir in 1954. With his gift and talent in music, he was well respected by his fellow members. In 1958, the name of the Youth Choir was changed to the Concord Choir. For nearly forty years, the choir sang praises to our Lord under his direction, assisted by his devoted sister as accompanist. He served as Minister of Music for many years.

He served faithfully in many other capacities; Ordained Deacon, Men's Usher Board member, The Ambassadors of Christ Sunday School Class, Past Superintendent of Sunday School, former teacher in the Youth Sunday School Department, designated "Father of the Year" in June of 1975 and "Laymen of the Year" in 1985. Bobby also coached and played on the Second Baptist Church Basketball Team in the 1950s.

Bobby was a hard working person and his dedication was outstanding. His first employer was the Columbus Dispatch for whom he delivered papers during his secondary school years. After his return from the service, for nearly twenty years, he was employed by Ranco Controls, Inc. He worked several years for Harper Industries, Inc. and at the time of his illness and homegoing, he was employed as a Test Administrator with the City of Columbus, Civil Service Commission.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Earl and Donald Anderson. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Betty; son, Michael, daughters, Linda and Vicki; beloved grandson, Adrian; sister, Peggy Ann Cross; father-in-law, Richard Hopson, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Julie Hopson and Constance Anderson; brothers-in-law, Richard (Sue) Hopson and Steven Hopson; eight nieces, nine nephews; a very special niece, Cynthia Shanklin; a special family friend, Jean Watzka; and many other close relatives and devoted friends.R-eliable
