Dr. Raymond Dietrich, 90, of College Station, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, in his home.

A visitation was held on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, 3001 South College Ave, Bryan.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Raymond was born on October 1, 1927, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Arthur and Esther Dietrich. He graduated from Fredericksburg High School.

During the Korean War, he served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force. He attended Texas A&M University on the GI Bill and received his BS and MS in Agricultural Economics. He then worked with the Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. and later attended graduate school at the University of Oklahoma, where he received his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics.

He returned to Texas A&M and joined its faculty in Agricultural Economics. He taught and conducted research with the Agricultural Experiment Station for over 20 years. He retired in 1993.

Raymond was preceded in death by his sisters, Leola Fuhrmann, Vernell Maenius and Dora Feuge, and his brothers, Arthur Dietrich, Jr. and Louis Dietrich.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; his son David; his beloved little dog, Yoshi; his sister, Lorene Avant, and many nieces and nephews.
