Obituary for Russell Davis Sr.
SHELBY: Russell Sparks Davis Sr., 100, died Monday, February 22, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland. Born in Chesnee, SC, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary Sparks Davis. Russell served in the Army during WWII, was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from Duke Energy after 30 years of service. He later worked for Williams Electric in Shelby for 12 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jackie Parker Davis; his second wife, Mildred Keeter Davis; son, Russell Davis Jr.; brothers, Leonard, Hoyle and Ken Davis; and sister, Marian Packard. He is survived by his son, Robert Davis of Atlanta, GA; half-sister, Nancy Reynolds of Concord; and half-brothers, Mack Davis of Gaffney, SC and Frank Lynn Davis of Moreno Valley, CA. Funeral services will be held 11am, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Doug Hankins officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Grover Cemetery.
