CHARLOTTE - Russell "Rusty" Davis, Jr., 62, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Russell Davis, Sr., of Shelby, and the late Jackie Parker Davis. He graduated from Shelby High School, served in the Army, and later graduated from U.N.C. Chapel Hill with a degree in journalism. For more than 20 years, he worked for the Post Office in Charlotte.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mildred Keeter Davis.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his brother, Robert "Bob" Davis, of Atlanta.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
