MOORESBORO - Mr. Leonard Lee Davis, 88, died April 16, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Chesnee, S.C., he was the son of the late Fred Davis and Mary Elsie Sparks Davis. He retired from Ellis Lumber Company where he was shop foreman. Mr. Davis designed and built a number of church doors in this area. He was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church where he had perfect attendance for 44 years in Sunday school. He was in the Builders Sunday school class and served as a deacon a number of times. He had been a member of the choir since 1946. He was noted for being a soloist at weddings and funerals for a number of years with a record of 258 weddings and funerals since 1965. He served as an aircraft mechanic instructor in the U. S. Navy during WWII.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. E. B. Packard.

Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Raye Dysart Davis, of the home; brothers, Travis Hoyle Davis of Shelby, Russell Sparks Davis and wife, Mildred, of Shelby, Harold Kenneth Davis and wife, Dorothy, of Mauldin, S.C., Fred Lynn Davis and wife, Rita, of Tochapi, Calif., Frank Davis, of Calif., Mack Davis, of Gaffney, S.C. and Tom Davis and wife, Judy, of Gaffney, S.C.; a sister, Nancy Reynolds, of Concord, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Tuesday, April 20, 5 p.m., Sandy Run Baptist Church
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
