After the death of his first wife Jacob married Hettie Bilger (1882) who was only 21 at the time. Three months later she had a daughter Emma Jane. Later she had a daughter Esther and a son Henry Lee who was born nine months after Jacob's death. Hettie moved to Elkhart County, Indiana and married Charles Ister. She died there in 1918.
