Anna Arnold of Longmont died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 90. Mrs. Arnold was born on Feb. 16, 1913 in St. Peter, Kan., to Peter and Amelia (Haas) Rohleder.

She grew up and went to school in Morland, Kan., and during her years in high school, she was proud of serving as captain of the girls basket team.

She married Willian "Bill" A. Arnold on Sept. 27 1932 in Victoria Kans. She and her husband raised a family in Garden City, where they live for 50 years.

She was a homemaker, who loved to cook, sew, make quilts and knit. She also enjoyed bowling and scheduling time to watch a favorite soap opera. Mrs. Arnold's great joy was her family and spending time supporting her family at activities such as softball. She and her husband moved to Hays, Kan. in 1987. She has lived in Longmont since 1990. Mrs. Arnold was brought up in the Catholic faith and was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont. She volunteered for many projects throughout her lifetime, helping with senior group projects and serving on the altar and rosary society at the church.

Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Felix, John, Nick and Ray Rohleder; and three sisters, Margaret Rohleder, Clara Klaus and Sally Lang.

She is survived by four sons, Bill Arnold and wife Barbara of Littleton, Lee Arnold and wife Mary of Houston, Richard Arnold and wife Jane of Jacksonville, Fla., and Albert Arnold of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Delores Paschel and husband Mike of Collinsville, Okla., Rosie Schaa and husband Dave of Mead, and Kathy Arnold of Brighton; a sister, Helen Brown of Victoria, Kan.; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Vigil service will be 7 tonight at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont, with the Rev. Mickey Flaska as celebrant. Cremation will follow the services with inurnment to take place in Hays at a later date.
