In his early years his family moved to Garden City where Lee graduated from High School. He attended Dodge City Junior College. Mr. Arnold served in the United States Army.
He had lived in Colorado Springs and in the communities of Newaygo and Gaylord Michigan for 25 years before moving to Houston in the early 90's. While in Newaygo he was active in the chamber of commerce and had served on the parish council of the local Catholic Church. He also had coached little league baseball. Lee was a manager for a propane company. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Houston.
Lee was united in marriage to Mary E. Moylan in 1959 at Garden City. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Tracy Planinsek, Cape Elizabeth, MA, and Annette Arnold , Parker, CO; three sons, Chris Arnold, Grand Junction, CO, Dan Arnold, Houston and Dennis Arnold, Chapel Hill, NC; two sisters, Delores Paschal, Collinsville, OK, and Rosie Schaa, Mead, CO; three brothers, Bill Arnold, Longmont, CO, Dick Arnold, Fernandina Beach, FL, and Albert Arnold, Omaha, NE; nine grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. There will be a prayer vigil/rosary at 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 2, 2010 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys where Mr. Arnold will lie in state after 5:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
