Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Garden City Cemetery with Doug Shelley, pastor of East Side Baptist Church, officiating. The family will celebrate the lives of John and Wanda at the Glasscock County Community Center from Noon until service time Saturday.
He was born August 20, 1941, in Stanton to Lizzie and Hayden Roberts.
He married Wanda Shires on July 11, 1964. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2020.
He had worked for Glasscock County as a heavy equipment operator for over 30 years.
He was a Baptist.
He is survived by three daughters: Paula J. Buske of Abilene, Lawana Sebree of Big Spring, and Sylvia Garcia and her husband Sam of Big Spring; three sons: Troy Roberts and his wife Jamie of Stanton, James Roberts and his wife Katrina of Garden City, and John Roberts of Midland; one brother: David Roberts; seven grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Ethel Roberts, Edith Wilder, Della Kinard, and Dorothy Burkes; and two brothers: Claude Roberts and Raymond Roberts.
