Dorothy Helen Burke, 72, of Bangs, formerly of Odessa, passed away Jan. 10, 2005. She was born July 12, 1932, to her parents Haden C. Roberts and Elizabeth Coolbaugh Roberts in Stanton. She was educated in Big Spring and became a nurse where she worked at Big Spring State Hospital for 15 years; for four years at Saint Michael’s Girl School in Dallas; and for one year at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo. She was also a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Odessa.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ronnie Ray Steen; her sister, Ethel Mae Roberts; and two infant children.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Ricky Steen and wife, Melanie, of Alton, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Linda Kay Steen-Miller of Odessa; brothers, Claude Roberts of Bangs, and Raymond and David Roberts, both of Saint Lawrence, and Johnny Roberts of Garden City; and sisters, Della Kinard of Fort Worth and Marie Wilder of Dallas. Dorothy is also survived by her granddaughters, Shannon and Jami Jo; and grandsons, Ronnie Steen and wife, Melissa, David, Justin, Christopher, Patrick and Raymond. She has four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services for Dorothy Burke are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa.
