Edward Ballard Jr.,86, of Paint Lick KY, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home in Paint Lick. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Ballard. He was born June 29, 1929 in Garrard County to the late Ed Ballard Sr. and Ada Sparks Ballard. Edward was a dairy farmer for most of his life and a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Along with serving in the U.S Marine Corps. Edward was a man of many traits, loved to be outside mowing his lawn and spending time with his family.
Along with his wife Barbara, Edward is survived by two daughters: Donna Propes (Steve) of Paint Lick and Clara Bratton Green of Nicholasville, KY; one brother: Bobby Ballard(Joyce) of Paint Lick; four grandchildren: Jennifer Slate (Steve), Jerrid Cutter (Lena), Miranda Roberts (Kevin) and Phillip Crank (Amber). He is also survived by eight nephews, 7 nieces, six great- grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren
Along with his parents, Edward is preceded in death by one son: David Edward Ballard; 3 brothers: Jim Ballard, Doug Ballard, and Glyndon Ballard; 3 sisters: Opal Lay, Mary Ruth Speaks and Dorsie Lee Miller.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 3, 2015 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Tuttle officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Steve Himes, Ken Mullins, Denny Ray, Freeman Wylie, Tommy Barnes, and Butch York. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerrid Cutter and Phillip Crank.
Memorial contributions are preferred to Hospice of Danville.
