James Andrews was a veteran of the Civil War, but returned from the battlefield to Cecil County a declared "mental case," for which he was confined to the Cecil County Almshouse at Cherry Hill. He was buried in Potter's Field in an unmarked grave, according to research by William T. Mahoney.
