Lillie was the daughter of William Jackson Straw and Elizabeth Jane Kettner. She was the granddaughter of Enoch Straw and Betsey Welch and Andrew Kettner and Mary Gladfelter. Her parents and the family moved from Iowa and settled near Wishart, Polk County, Missouri after 1895. Then her parents and most of her siblings moved to the Coffeyville, Kansas area.She then to Okmulgee. Her parents and sister Clara Bell moved to Washington County, Arkansas where her father William Straw died 10-29-1917. Her mother Elizabeth took turns living with her children after his death. Elizabeth was living with Lillie in 1920 and died 11-3-1920, her body returned to Arkansas. William and Elizabeth Straw are buried in the Friendship Church Cemetery outside of West Fork, Washington Co. Arkansas as is William's brother John F. Straw. Lillie first married William Griffin on 9-19-1900 in Polk County, Missouri, recorded in Book 1 page 366. She was his third wife. After his death she married William J. Cornell and she lived the rest of her life in Okmulgee. Their marriage license was issued 7-18-1923 Okmulgee, Okmulgee Co., Oklahoma Case # MLI-14-00467
Lillie and William Griffin had one daughter Nora Jean Griffin on 7-31-1903. She first married Floyd Hudgpeth in 1919. Their marriage license issued 7-31-1919 Okmulgee Co., Oklahoma Case # MLI-09-00048 She later married by 1922 to Robinson Crusoe Shephens born 6-10-1893 in Scott Co. Tennessee. Nora's son R.C. (Robert C.) is also buried here in this cemetery.
