Danny graduated from Mishawaka High School, class of 1974. Danny was an official umpire for over 30 years for the Indiana High School Athletic Association and the Amateur Softball Association (ASA). He was awarded Umpire of the Year in 1998 and officiated in the State Finals 1995-1998. Danny also was a mechanic at Hammes, a Fed-Ex contractor, a Pepsi installer, a transportation specialist for Le Sea/ESPN, and an athletics driver for Ancilla College.
He was survived by his two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Shirley (VanDusen) Cook, and by his brother, Jere Cook.
