Paul Clark Stewart, 87 of Galesburg passed away on February 5, 2021.

Paul was born July 15, 1933 in Galesburg to Robert C. Stewart and Lillian (Clark) Stewart. Paul was married for 63 years to the love of his life and faithful companion, Dorothy K. (Reigle) Stewart. He is survived by two daughters; Jane (Steve) Connel of Moneta, VA. and Janet (Doug) Freed of Sterling and three sons; Robert (Melissa) Stewart of Galesburg, McLain (Kerry) Stewart of Omaha, NE and Edward (Kelly) Stewart of Galesburg; 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Paul is also survived by two sisters in laws, Alice Stewart and Delores Swann. Along with his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son, John Clark Stewart; his grandson, William Matthew Bowman; two sisters - Mary Alderson and Margaret Hendricks; and four brothers - Robert Eugene Stewart, Edward Stewart, Everett Stewart and David Stewart.

Paul graduated from Galesburg High School and proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Philippine Sea from 1952 to 1956. He received an honorable discharge. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg, giving his heart to the Lord on March 15, 2020 at the age of 86. Paul was a skilled welder for Midland Coal Company. After retirement, he and Dorothy enjoyed many years of travel and adventure, always together and loving life.

A private family burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. A celebration of Paul’s life is being planned for summer 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made in Paul’s name to the First Church of the Nazarene.
