Georgia was born on , February 22nd, 1932 in Pecatonica, IL to Henry and Florence DeGrote. Georgia attended school in Pecatonica, going as far as the 8th grade. When she entered the workforce, she became a switchboard operator, working for many years for Humphrey Cadillac & Olds up until the time she retired. Georgia married Harold Knope in March 1979. They spent a great deal of their married years traveling all over the United States and abroad. Georgia loved each new excursion. Georgia loved music and it was quite common to find her playing music and singing and dancing with her children, grandchildren and nieces. Georgia's family was incredibly special to her and her family will miss her very much, especially her daughters, Carla and Stacee and her son, Kenneth. Georgia also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Knope, her parents, her sisters, Florence Ardell and Virginia Jean and her brother John Willard. A funeral ceremony maintaining COVID guidelines of social distancing and wearing of masks with livestreaming will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2021 in McCorkle Funeral Home-Countryman Chapel 529 Washington St., Pecatonica, IL link to livestream is listed below.
