A graveside service to celebrate the life of Jimmie Joe Fox, 87, of Camden, will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow with full military honors.
Jimmie left the battlefield Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
Born in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Herman Fox and Edna Lutes Freeman.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan Catherine Hoerr Fox; sons, Stephen Fox (Jennifer) of Elgin and Michael Fox (Meline) of Camden; grandchildren, Patrick Wade Fox, Mathew Thomas Fox, Ashley Marie Fox, and Amanda Nicole Fox; and eight great-grandchildren.
Jimmie was predeceased by his sister, Wanda Fox, and brothers, Eugene and Harold Fox.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Thiel-Meyer Pet Adoption Center, 128 Black River Road, Camden, SC 29020. Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
