He met his wife, Lori Carothers, in Houston in 2001. They were married August 2001 in Reno, NV.
Charlie retired from the family owned business, AWF Pilot Car Service in 2016. Charlie was active in various civic organizations throughout his life, a member of Florida Jaycee Organization from 1972 - 2017 and President of Brandon Jaycees 1982. He was raised in the Brandon Masonic Lodge #114 as a Master Mason in 1986.
Charlie had a passion for a lot of things like cars, racing, boating, fishing and telling jokes. Charlie never met a stranger. He touched many people's lives during his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Lori Koon; daughter, Bonnie Koon; daughter, Jennifer Tabor (Chad); grandchildren, Joshua Tabor, Katie Tabor, and Nicholas Tabor; daughter, Heather Koon; sister, Bernice Henry (Bob); and nephew and nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held May 6, 2017, at Veterans Memorial Park, 3602 Hwy 301 North, Tampa, FL 33619, at 11:30 am, with the Florida Veterans Patriot Guard and Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations in his name made to Florida Hospice and Palliative Care Association
